Why ride in Tuscia
From Viterbo you can head in any direction: within a few dozen kilometres you move from volcanic lake craters to Etruscan countryside, with scenic roads and good food along the way.
The best season runs from spring to autumn; in summer it is worth setting off early to avoid the hottest hours.
Three tried and tested routes
- Lake Bolsena loop: Viterbo, Montefiascone, Bolsena, Capodimonte and back along the Cassia road
- Cimini mountains and Lake Vico: Soriano nel Cimino, Ronciglione, Caprarola and the Monte Cimino beech forest
- Etruscans and the sea: Tuscania, Vulci and the Montalto coast, returning via Canino
